My friend Lynn and I drove through gorgeous CT countryside on the way to the festival in Tolland County. This was my first time there, and I'm glad I went because next year it's moving to North Haven, which is an ugly ride down Rte 95.
It was a chilly and at times damp and muddy day, but we both ended up with some nice goodies. We each got the same nubby cashmere/merino blend yarn, in different colors, to have a knit-along for the cardi pattern it was modeled in.
I started it already because I was so frustrated that not until 8 inches into the circular sweater I've been working on did I realize I'd twisted the join and was making a Moebius strip. Cripes. At least when I took it off the needle I also realized that it is way too big. It's an oversized sweater but this was ridiculous. I love the pattern (The Weekender) so will rip and restart, but unfortunately I'll have to do some math to size it right.
I bought the rope basket shown with the peach yarn from Colemama Creations. Her bowls, bags, and baskets are fabulous and I had a hard time choosing among them. This one is labeled a knitting bowl, but I'm going to use it for a potted plant.
The bobbin lace makers were mesmerizing to watch.
Needle felting!
