Apologies for the blog silence. It's been a combination of draining heat, laziness, busyness, and feeling overwhelmed at times by the evil administration in America. I went for over a month without knitting a stitch, but I did crochet- yes, crochet!
The Abstract Cats baby blanket is finished, my first real crochet project. Then at my monthly class we worked on the Daisy Fields Market Tote. My first attempt was with James C. Brett Marble Chunky, but it was too difficult to see the stitches using the variegated yarn. I restarted with the yarn the pattern called for, Bernat Maker Home Dec. What a cool yarn! It's like a smooth tube and the stitch definition is great.
Once I got back to knitting, I whipped out a Gingersnap baby cardi, using good ol' Cascade 220 Superwash. Another keeper baby pattern. It worked up so fast-maybe too fast, as I sewed one front on backward and had to redo. Then I didn’t notice that I had sewed the plain sleeve to the plain side until I was totally done seaming it and weaving in, so the striped sleeve had to go on the striped side. Duh. But you know what, I think I prefer it this way.
With midterm elections coming up I'm doing what I can to get Democrats elected locally and statewide! Phone banking, door-to-door canvassing, promoting Gun Sense candidates, writing letters to the editor, and becoming a member of the Democratic Town Committee.
In July there was a clamboil at El's and the 4 Palme 'kids' were together for the first time since Dad's memorial last year. I think of him every day.
Sweet cardigan. Love the colours, too, and it looks great despite the sleeve mixup.

I would never have known there was a sleeve mix up, such a cute cardigan and I love the cat crochet!! Good luck with the mid terms, I hope it goes well. It is good to get together for a not momentous family occasion😁
