This is how I and my fellow SLP retirees, Deb and Marilyn, spent our first day of not going back to school! We had a relaxing day in New London, walking the pier, browsing a few shops, and having lunch at Muddy Waters. All the while yakking up a storm, and making plans for future outings. Some of the sights:
Statue of a young Eugene O'Neill, whose family summered in New London
Gold Star Bridge seen from the pier
Lots of train activity
The Hygienic Art Gallery- have to go back and check it out, not only for the cool exterior but for the funky name
On Saturday I joined some Moms and others in canvassing for Teresa Tanzi, who is running for a third term. I don't live in her district, but she is a staunch supporter of gun sense as well as the environment and local businesses, and we need to keep her in the State House.
This summer we've had some unexpected visitors in the backyard:
The ducklings are now almost as big as their mama.
These guys have been almost daily visitors lately:
I've started another Inspira Cowl, this time in blues and purples.
What a perfectly wonderful way to share a day out. I love the duckies!! So cute. I laughed at the Hygienic Museum, thoughts of dishwashing detergent and sponges galore!!
