A final lily photo for the final day of July.
A string of good occurrences the past few days:
-The kitchen walls are plastered and will be ready for painting tomorrow.
-K and I went to Home Depot to buy their Behr brand paint, which got a high rating from Consumer Reports. The paint salesman was the most helpful guy. We had thrown a bunch of rollers, brushes, paint trays etc. in the cart, and when he saw it told us we didn't need all that. He showed us the best materials for the job ( big bucket with paint screen, long handled roller, a few brushes) and gave us a demonstration of the easiest way to get the job done. He spent a good half hour or more giving us advice and saving us money.
-I had emailed my assistant principal to ask what the plans were to get me some storage area in my room after they had removed all the cabinetry unbeknownst to me. Would I be able to order a few bookcases and cabinets? The answer to that was no, of course, as there is no money, but the custodian would scrounge up what she could. Then, the next day she e'd to say they were putting the cabinetry back in! Woohoo! Why on earth they took it out in the first place is beyond me.
-In April I got a laptop charger at Best Buy which was a pain from the beginning. I almost always use the computer with the charger, as without it the screen is too dim for my aged eyes. This charger's cord was too short, and the thingy that connects to the computer in 2 parts was always coming apart, so that I kept having to tape the sections together. I'd kept the receipt, but standing in line at BB I read the big Returns Policy on the wall, which stated returns were honored up to 45 days from purchase, which was already past. However, they gave me a full store credit, no questions asked, and I got a better, and cheaper, charger with it.
-Yesterday was my birthday, and I was taken out for lunch and dinner, and tomorrow a friend is taking me out for brunch.
-The lace yoke on the Sideways Cardigan, after a few minor pattern reading glitches, is going smoothly even during the shoulder and neckline shaping.
I hope you are having good days too!
Happy Belated Birthday!
