It was a picture perfect weekend. D and I took a nice motorcycle ride (did you ever think to hear me say that? And I even suggested the ride.) to apple country in northern RI and picked apples. Though I picked more up off the ground than from off the trees, as the lower reachable branches had mostly been picked over. Driving by ponds and rivers you could tell how extremely dry it has been. Water levels are so low. The trees have been turning color early this year too because of the stress.
Remember last month that Debby and I went to the Farmhouse Yarns sale (see August 18 post). I received a flyer this week that Carol Martin is having her final sale of this type, as she is now focusing on selling through yarn stores and online. So if you are looking to fill a bag with gorgeous hand dyed yarn at a discount, with a pretty drive through the Connecticut countryside to boot, the sale is Tues-Sun Oct 16-21 and Oct 23-27, 8am-4pm.
I've started the little mystery project which won't be revealed until the giftee receives it, and hopefully models it. Nobody will ever guess what it is. If anyone guesses they deserve a prize - I will knit them one of their very own, whether they want one or not! Hint- it is lime green for a reason.
The Webs catalog arrived and I discovered that they have down-loadable patterns for only $1.49 on their website. Scroll down - there are several great sweaters I'd like to make.
Ah, you lucky northern girls. Cool weather and fiber farms to boot. Wish I could squeeze a WEBS catalogue into the budget. Aren't they about $40.00?

What a nice way to spend your Saturday. The green item really intrigues me -- I keep thinking "insect" but maybe that's because there was a big lime green one that liked to hang out near our front lantern when it was humid. I hope that no one would want to model a knitted insect, unless of the butterfly/ladybug type!

I know! I know! It's a LIME cover!!! Got to keep those limes warm, you know. Have to keep them in their native colors so the other limes don't tease them.
I'm right? Yes? *g*

Oh man, look at the color of the sky in those photos. That is the best of New England weather right there!
I think you're knitting a stuffed ice-cream cone with bright sherbet colors. (I actually don't really think you're kitting that, but I have no idea what you are knitting, but I figured I should guess. Oh, unless it's a stuffed turtle!)
