Meet my new juicy orange KitchenAid mixer. I took advantage of today's snow day to give it its inaugural spin, and made pie dough. We'll see if it gives as good results as my trusty little hand mixer.
This is the 6th snow day off from school since December. Luckily for me, as a 4-day-a-week worker, I've been able to make them up by going in on my day off, so I won't have to make days up in mid-summer! What I find amusing, or I should say annoying, is how 'news' reporters wring their hands over the 'unusual' snow and cold temperatures. Hellooo, this is New England and it is winter, people!
Next August will mark 10 years of blogging! I've been very sporadic in posting lately. My Typepad data shows that this is my 961st post. So, I've made a goal for myself of making it to 1000 posts by the blogiversary. Even if it means sticking in some cheaty little posts here and there to make it.
Another goal is getting out of my comfort zone and lobbying for sensible gun legislation. I'll be attending a training session on lobbying with several 'Moms' members. I'm not comfortable talking in groups- trust me, I'm a lot better on paper, and prefer others to take the lead. But I've adopted the mantra "It's not all about me," as I've come to realize shyness is actually a form of self-centeredness.
