The yarn that was on backorder from Halcyon Yarn arrived- 12 skeins of Briggs & Little 'Atlantic' in !RED! It's full of little sticks and bits, but in a nice way. Have an idea of what it's going to be? Email me (left sidebar) by Sunday, January 20th with your guess, and the first person with the correct project will win assorted yarn from my overflowing stash. If no one hits the nail on the head, I'll choose the person who comes closest to the project type.
I did pretty well with my 2012 resolution of doing something new-to-me each month. I'll continue that this year. I'd like to step out of my comfort zone and try something scary, like learning to play an instrument (I'm very non-musical), or take some kind of dance lessons.
A small new goal is to keep track of the books I read, in print or audio form, and to write a little more about them on the blog. After all, 'audioknits' was started with the purpose of sharing both my knitting and reading.
I used to keep a list of books I'd read every year from childhood through my most of my teens. I wish I'd kept it up. I've started again with a little notebook, recording title, author, whether print or audio, and a few notes, which should kickstart my faulty memory.
When We Were the Kennedys (print) by Maine native Monica Wood was a touching autobiography of Wood's childhood. It led me to start reading her fiction, starting with Any Bitter Thing, in which you can recognize bits and pieces from that childhood. The last quarter of the book caught me by surprise...
I hope it begins with a S, but i am not participating as my stach is already overflowing :)
I'll be looking forward to your book advises!
Have a wonderful Year 2013!
