We picked up this little cabinet, or commode, earlier this summer at a local consignment/antique store. It's two years since we remodeled the kitchen, but I'm still looking for storage pieces. I liked the shape of the cabinet, and the carved handles, and especially liked that the drawer had dividers (removable) and the lower space had tray dividers (not removable).
The funny little thing must have been someone's home workshop project. It is cobbled together from different types of wood,, and there is even a board with bark still on it hidden inside! I don't know what the curved metal piece inside is for.
I cleaned off the piece with Murphy's Oil Soap, but decided it needs to be refinished and stained. Thank goodness Kate and Dan have been in a refinishing phase with things for their apartment, and K has volunteered to fix this up too.
What a cute, weird little object. I can't wait to see it refinished. I assume there will be room for a nosy little kitty.

I'm a sucker for storage. Wooden, cardboard, plastic...
