When I finally got around to posting after 2 weeks, I discovered I was unable to upload photos, and that other glitchy things were going on as I typed. The helpful Typepad customer support solved the problem by asking if I'd recently upgraded to Internet Explorer 9, as others who had done so experienced the same problems. Indeed I had 'upgraded', but by following Typepad's easy solution the problems were resolved. I wish I had ignored the 'upgrade' invitation, as it has caused nothing but headaches and I've seen no advantages to it.
Easter has come and gone, and it was nice to have a crowd here with the increased kitchen space. We set up the island buffet-style so there was plenty of room around the tables. Here's a picture of John with his newest cousin, Lily. He does have a way with babies.
I had to email a couple of times before hearing back from the company I'd ordered the extra Yang from, to complete the ruffled cardi for the wedding. The woman didn't have the color I needed, so she is having SWTC send it to me directly. Crossing fingers. [The yarn arrived as I was writing this. It is the wrong color. I'm sending it back for a refund]. I did finish the Fiery Bolero, a nice little knit that can be paired with many tops. I called the woman I originally bought the yarn from, who is now back from Stitches South and unpacking her yarns. If by some chance she has the yarn and it arrives in time, I'll wear the bolero with the cardigan. If not, there are a lot of bright, pretty dresses in the stores now I can wear it with, and I'm going out this week to buy one as back-up.

When I was showing Pretty Things last time, I forgot to post the Ransburg canister set and breadbox that belonged to my mom. I've been waiting to place the cheery, well-used set in the new kitchen. It brings back good memories. Happy Mothers Day!
The bolero looks fabulous!! Very stylish. Isn't it awful when you just need one more ball of wool?? I tend to over order and now I have lots of one and a bit balls left. I am glad your family gathering went well and you are right, he seems very at home and comfortable around babies!!
The canisters are beautiful and the bread box too. I had forgotten that we had a bread box when I was little!!

I'm glad you were able to fix the upgrade problems. One night I downloaded the new Firefox and it made such a mess of my laptop that I am now officially terrified of upgrades! :)
Your bolero came out so well. I hope you receive the yarn for the cardigan in time. The wedding must be close now!
