It was wet. Here are photos taken Wednesday, after the rains had stopped but the water was at its highest.
The joyrider plowing through the water at the fire station is my husband, who managed to get out with a neighbor and get some errands done via a circuitous route.
This morning I walked down to the fire station and the water is completely gone off the road. Walking the opposite direction to Alton Bridge I found it is closed indefinitely as there is a crater across the entire width. So there is only one way out of the village.
The local school and URI are closed again today. My school had a 2 hour delay, but I called in as there are bridges and roads closed on my end, and possibly on theirs as well. I'm getting a little stir crazy. I should be able to get out to the library and grocery store this afternoon. I did file the taxes yesterday, but got very little knitting done as I'm feeling a bit at sixes and sevens.
