Here is the complete 52 row pattern repeat for Simply Shawled. I love the big chunky cables. I should not have gone down 2 needle sizes as there will be no ease at all, so I am going to rip this out and knit the next size up on the same size needles. Many hours lost on a huge swatch. The Harrisville Soft Spun is full of pieces of the meadow which I keep tweezing out. Well, I'll put it aside for now and get back to Wavy Gravy.
Yesterday I made my first pheresis donation. If you have ever donated blood, it is basically the same except you are there longer. Also, as most of the fluid is returned to your body, you are not likely to feel faint afterward, and there are fewer physical restrictions for the following 24 hours. I was at the center for 2 hours, including paperwork and getting me set up. The procedure is painless. I brought a book along and passed the time reading and chatting. Some donors, like me, can get chilly during the process and that will restrict the blood flow and make things take longer. So they covered me up with a a blanket and put those body warmers similar to these on my hand, needle site, neck, and chest. I also had two cups of cocoa. All the warmth worked. I may have looked strange but it was for a good cause!

Wow -- I can't believe you had to rip out 52 rows. Ouch. But I guess better to do it now than later.
That's a wonderful thing that you donate blood. There are so many people who benefit. C does it too (the regular blood donation) but I'm afraid if I tried it, I'd pass out straightaway. It sounds like they kept you very comfortable.

Oh dear. Ripping is never fun but at least you got to practice the cables!
As a nurse, thanks for donating. I see the direct results of the generosity of people like you!

Peter is a blood donator too. You are very consistent and it is most admirable. Where'd you get your stamina from? 52 rows! Whew. Have you grown frog legs? Simply Shawled looks pretty!

Good for you! I'm unable to give blood because of a low iron count, but I keep trying. Sorry about the frogging, but I know you'll be happy you did. Better now than later.

Ouch! I hate having to frog that much work. I usually have to set it aside for a while to get my interest back up.

Thank you for doanting your white blood cells! I can't donate, but I do pheresis draws as a guinea pig for the NIH. I'm so amazed by the machinery and the process! Thanks again - good stuff.
